Mathew Knowles Is Defending Beyoncé’s New Billionaire Status

While haters and detractors of Beyoncé may form their own opinion about her new billionaire status, her father Mathew Knowles is setting the record straight.

Say what you want about Beyoncé‘s music, call it overrated, call it overhyped. But what you can’t call Bey is broke, thanks to her newly bestowed billionaire status. The Queen has just joined an elite group of billionaire artists – and her dad, Mathew Knowles, is making sure people don’t have qualms about that either.

As you may remember, just before we rang in 2026, Bey was already in a celebratory mood as it was confirmed that she had officially become a billionaire. This was due, in large part, to her “Renaissance” and “Cowboy Carter tours” and other endeavors like her viral 2018 Coachella performance, businesses like Sir Davis, Cécred and more.

But of course, seeing as how people already have some ill feelings towards Bey, this good news was just another reason to rile up haters, detractors, and others who may feel as if the “Kitty Kat” singer is just in the business to make money and make herself richer while leaving her fans by the wayside. That’s where Bey’s dad and a recent interview he did with Page Six stepped in to clear all the commotion.

Speaking to the outlet, Knowles asserted that his eldest child was never “motivated by money” and that her main concern all these years has been how she could best show up for her supporters.

“I’ve never heard Beyoncé ever talk about money… It’s always been, ‘How can I make my fans happy? How can I be the best at what I’m doing?’” he explained. “Her money came with the success, but that has never been a goal of hers. And I love that about her.

He went on to say that while he congratulated the “Cuff It” singer for achieving the impressive feat, the status was never something that appealed to his daughter, nor did it represent who she truly was.

“She’s motivated by being the very best. She’s motivated by making her fans happy and… giving back to the community as well,” Knowles said.

After his words started making the rounds on social media, many of her fans jokingly pushed that if Bey was really concerned with making her fans happy, she’d release the long-awaited “Renaissance” visuals…among other things.

“She can begin with releasing the cct[“Cowboy Carter Tour”] film, putting both tour films on streaming, releasing live albums for the two tours and releasing the visuals,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.

“The visuals will make me happy by the way,” said another.

Others pushed to have her ticket prices lowered, with one person writing: “u can make us happy by lowering them ticket prices.”

Some asserted that whatever she has in store for Act III will be the key to keeping her fans happy, writing: “How can I make my fans happy? Girl, drop act iii asap and come back outside. We need you lmao.”
