Early on in the election, Blige made it clear that she was with Hillary Clinton and even broke out into Bruce Springsteenβs song βAmerican Skin (41 Shots)β in front of Clinton during the Democratic candidateβs appearance on Bligeβs Apple Music talk show.
But now, at the mere mention of President Human Boil, Blige canβt hold back her emotions.
βI just really canβt support this. It is what it is. He speaks about women viciously. Just racist,β Blige said.
Blige does see a glimmer of hope when it comes to the next four years, and although the world is clearly divided when it comes to those who want to MAGA and those who want to punch Trump and his fellow Nazis in the face, she hopes that people will come together to defeat the hate heβs spreading.
βMy hopes are that this brings us together as people. As people period. Not as a βpeople.β Not as black people. And understand thatβs going to make everything change, is that we love each other,β Blige continued. βI hope that it brings us all together and helps uplift us rather than break us.β
Hereβs to wishful thinking.
