Man Who Drove Ford Bronco During 1994 O.J. Simpson Police Chase Spotted In Malibu. Guess What He Was Driving?

Al “A.C.” Cowlings, the man who led police on a slow-speed chase with O.J. Simpson in the back seat of a white Ford Bronco in 1994, was spotted in Malibu the day after Simpson’s death.

The former NFL player and close childhood friend of Simpson’s was seen driving, you guessed it, another Ford truck.

Simpson passed away April 10 following a battle with cancer. He was notoriously acquitted of the fatal stabbings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman in 1995.

Two days after the June 12, 1994 murders, Cowlings and Simpson led cops on a 90-minute-long car pursuit in Cowlings’ Bronco. Authorities at the time saw Simpson on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Orange County in the back seat of the truck, allegedly crying and holding the barrel of a .357 magnum to his head.

The chase halted traffic from Disneyland to Los Angeles, and had everyone around the country glued to their TV screens as the incident unfolded in real time.

Cowlings and Simpson were both arrested at Simpson’s Brentwood, Calif. home following the chase. Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Brown and Goldman, but Cowlings was subpoenaed in a civil suit brought against Simpson for wrongful death.

Online reactions to Simpson’s death have been mixed. In addition to the countless memes and commentary, celebrities and notable figures from the Simpson trial have spoken out. Ron Goldman’s father, Fred, also spoke out about Simpson’s passing.

“The only thing I have to say is it’s just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years,” Fred Goldman said to NBC News. “It’s no great loss to the world. It’s a further reminder of Ron’s being gone.”
