Al βA.C.β Cowlings, the man who led police on a slow-speed chase with O.J. Simpson in the back seat of a white Ford Bronco in 1994, was spotted in Malibu the day after Simpsonβs death.
The former NFL player and close childhood friend of Simpsonβs was seen driving, you guessed it, another Ford truck.

Two days after the June 12, 1994 murders, Cowlings and Simpson led cops on a 90-minute-long car pursuit in Cowlingsβ Bronco. Authorities at the time saw Simpson on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Orange County in the back seat of the truck, allegedly crying and holding the barrel of a .357 magnum to his head.
The chase halted traffic from Disneyland to Los Angeles, and had everyone around the country glued to their TV screensΒ as the incident unfolded in real time.
Cowlings and Simpson were both arrested at Simpsonβs Brentwood, Calif. home following the chase. Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Brown and Goldman, but Cowlings was subpoenaed in a civil suit brought against Simpson for wrongful death.
Online reactions to Simpsonβs death have been mixed. In addition to the countless memes and commentary, celebrities and notable figures from the Simpson trial have spoken out. Ron Goldmanβs father, Fred, also spoke out about Simpsonβs passing.
βThe only thing I have to say is itβs just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years,β Fred Goldman said to NBC News. βItβs no great loss to the world. Itβs a further reminder of Ronβs being gone.β
