MAGA in Virginia is Furious With NAACP for Endorsing White Democrat Over Black Republican

Ahead of the Virginia gubernatorial election, Black MAGA is pressuring the NAACP to endorse the only Black woman running for office… a MAGA Republican.

Nothing seems to scream division quite like Black folks beefing with one of the oldest Black organizations in U.S. history. Some Black conservatives and MAGA supporters online are furious after one candidate for Virginia governor was spotted at an NAACP event. Although the organization isn’t known for endorsing candidates, regardless of race, many online are now calling for the NAACP’s disbandment.

With less than one week until the state’s governor election, tensions over Democrat Abigail Spanberger– a white woman– and Republican Winsome Earle-Sears– a Black woman– are only intensifying. Spanberger, who is also leading in the polls, recently pulled up to the NAACP 90th Annual Convention, and Black MAGA is now accusing the Black organization of snubbing the only Black candidate.

“Sears would be the nation’s first ever black female to be elected Governor. It’s a shame and travesty that the NAACP fails to acknowledge and consider this,” @RevDMinor wrote on X. “Partisan politics is a disservice to this country.”

The organization has never endorsed a candidate for governor, but after spotting the white Democrat at the event, some folks ran with their own narrative. “Black people have been indoctrinated to not have one unfavorable opinion or belief that will offend white liberals,” @NemesisSgt tweeted. “They’d rather die than not support this lady and this party – this is what slavery evolved into. This isn’t a political rally it’s a master/slave meeting.”

Earle-Sears is a MAGA Republican with strong ties to President Donald Trump and the military. The former Marine would be Virginia’s first Black female governor if elected. But because of her political affiliation, many Black voters are hesitant to throw their support to her. Still, conservatives argued the NAACP should step in and endorse Earle-Sears over Spanberger because of her race.

@Fillyjawn86 said the NAACP is “still cooning for the white folks and our demise.” Another user, @billysandytodd, accused the organization of being hypocritical. “The same NAACP that fights for redistricting ‘because blacks don’t have enough representation’ is supporting ‘the white woman, not the black woman,’” he said.

“The NAACP needs to be disbanded. This is an organization that I have no respect for,” @WellsJorda89710 said in a video. “At one time, [the NAACP] did so much for the African American experience,” but according to him, the organization is now “a laughing stock and a joke.” He further went on claiming the NAACP has “no morals” and “no values.”

The organization has since responded to the false claims in a statement. “The NAACP supports policies, not politicians. We do not endorse candidates, and we will never allow misinformation to undermine our commitment to protecting Black voters and our democracy,” the organization said.

Rev. Cozy Bailey, Virginia State Conference President, added on to the sentiment saying, “The NAACP Virginia State Conference has not endorsed any candidate for Governor. Period.” He added, “We remain focused on the issues that matter most to our community: protecting voting rights, expanding access to affordable healthcare, improving economic opportunity, and ensuring that every eligible voter is able to cast a ballot freely and fairly.”
