TMZ reports that authorities received a 911 call around 10 p.m. Tuesday, and paramedics found Ethan Farmer bleeding all over his body from multiple stab wounds.

The ax man, who toured with New Kids on the Block and other top acts, had done pot brownies or cookies and then went HAM on himself, authorities said.

The outlet reports that he remained in the hospital as of Friday and was recovering.

And now a public service announcement on Edibles:

Edibles, though rising in popularity, are not as well studied as traditionally smoked buds, according to The Cannabist.

Since they go directly to your bloodstream, their effects may be heightened, and anyone who has seen a bad weed trip knows that paranoia times 10 is a scary thing. Further, many edibles are made with “undifferentiated” shake or trim, which can come from lots of different plants, causing unknown effects.

On top of that, it takes a minute for the effects of edibles to wear off—and on. Many newbies, who initially feel nothing, eat more than they should because they “don’t feel anything” until it is too late.

Finally, marijuana can exacerbate underlying mental-health issues.

There’s no need for alarm, but common sense and care should be taken when ingesting the sticky-icky.

Here’s to Ethan’s speedy recovery!
