Fans who were expecting to see Lil Wayne during a Canadian stop on his “Tha Carter VI tour” got a huge disappointment after the rapper announced that the show was being canceled due to “unforeseen illness.”

An August 11 announcement came from the Budweiser Stage official X account, which read:
“Due to unforeseen illness, Wayne’s Toronto show tonight will be postponed. As his fans know, he loves putting on nothing short of the best performances for those who come out, and he was so excited for this one. Please stay tuned for the new date coming soon. All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new date once announced.”
While surely Wayne’s fans were concerned about the artist’s health, many, especially those who traveled for the show, were not to happy to find out about the cancellation on the day of the show and want to know why they weren’t notified until two hours after the venue’s doors opened.
“Cancelling this late, when everyone is already there, should result in compensation from the artist. [Imagine] traveling in for this for no reason. Weather is one thing but to bail with an illness an hour before you’re supposed to be on is wild,” wrote someone on X.
Destiny, who said she traveled to Toronto for the performance, told her TikTok followers that she suspects Wayne may have run into border issues trying to enter Canada. But she’s still pissed that she missed out on the show and doesn’t know if she would make the trip again if and when the show is rescheduled.
“If he is sick, that sucks, but the issue I have is that Budweiser stage probably knew that earlier in the day and still kept the doors open for people to come in, buy merch, buy drinks and spend a lot of money,” she said.
TikToker @rkminthecut wants to know who’s going to get him back for the $30 he spent on parking.
“Drake would never to us,” he captioned his post.
While we don’t have any additional information on his illness, Wayne also cancelled an August 12 performance in New York. We’ll keep you posted
