Calese Carron Crowder, 38, was arrested for allegedly sniffing a woman’s rear end inside the store. The whole thing started when Burbank police officers were alerted to a Nordstrom Rack after a report of someone loitering in the women’s department.
After investigation they ended up at a nearby Walmart where they used the store’s surveillance system to track Crowder following a female customer, according to a Burbank Police Department news release.
Crowder was captured on video following the woman, kneeling behind her, and engaging in “lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks,” according to a press release. After the footage was reviewed, police arrested the suspect.
In 2023, Crowder was allegedly caught engaging in similar behavior with multiple women at bookstores across Burbank which ultimately went viral on TikTok.
TikTok user @imsodetroitmedia questioned what could possibly drive someone to commit such an act.
“To be known as a serial booty sniffer is crazy…This is the killer part about it. He was once before caught up smelling somebody else booty, another female booty. He did his time, got out, and guess what he’s back to smelling booty. I don’t know what would convince a person to wake up and be like ‘I’m about to go smell some booty’, but this guy right here gets the award. Booty sniffer,” he exclaimed.
With his disturbing actions resurfacing, some social media users have called for him to remain in prison for the foreseeable future.
“He needs to be locked up forever,” TikTok user @jowahorn said. “This is the second time he has been convicted. So he’s a serial sniffer of the booty of women. He’s going around California sniffing different women’s booty. This is weirdo activity. He is estranged, and he should never ever see the door. I don’t know where you need to lock him up, but he should never see the earth. He should never come out because this is actually sexual assault.”
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing. The Burbank city attorney’s office filed one count of loitering with the intent to commit a crime, per the release. Crowder’s bail has been set at $100,000 and he will stay in custody until his next court appearance on Aug. 1.
