Made with yarn infused with collagen, the face wrap is meant to help you get your jawline snatched. It stays in place with the help of velcro closures at the top of the head and the nape of the neck, and is supposed to be comfortable enough for you to wear every day. Kim K is so confident that her face wrap will help prevent double chins, she’s charging $48 for it.

But if you didn’t already grab one, you’re out of luck. Both the clay and cocoa versions are completely sold out.

We’re still trying to figure out who the early adopters are, because for the most part, Black TikTok doesn’t seem to be buying what Kim K is selling.

“This new piece from Skims is stupid,” said @kb.aesthetics312 on TikTok. “This thing is not going to make your face look any slimmer, and if it does, it’s just temporary – just like that ring around your ankle when you take your sock off, it goes away.”

Save your money this new piece from Skims is not going to slim your face, even if you wear this every night! It may provide some compression after a procedure but that’s it! #skims #kimkardashian

Another user called the face wrap a “scam,” saying Kardashian’s latest launch is just another beauty product the masses don’t need.

Our darling sister Kimberly said, ‘You guys need to snatch your jawline, and she gave you this contraption,” said @theskinpriest_ on TikTok. “Nobody needs this.”

TikToker @akeahrahj said she might be willing to try the product, but isn’t feeling the price tag, especially when you can find similar products for much cheaper on the TikTok shop and Amazon.

“It is hilarious to me that Skims is selling this $48 face wrap,” she said in a post. “Now I’m a Skims fan. I’m a big Skims fan, but $48?”

We know what Black TikTok thinks, but we thought we’d ask an expert. Dr. Akshay Sanan is a double-board-certified facial plastic surgeon based in Boston, Massachusetts, who told The Root he thinks a Skims face wrap isn’t worth the money.

“This isn’t a sculpting, lifting or shaping device. It’s basically a facelift, neck lift or chin lipo post-op wrap dressed up in Skims branding,” he said. “It just hugs your face tightly and hopes for the best. You’re better off saving your money or using it to book a real consultation.”

Dr. Sanan also warns that prolonged wear of the face wrap can cause indentations or creases in the skin, particularly around the lower face and neck.

“It may even worsen skin laxity over time by putting uneven pressure in areas that aren’t meant to be compressed,” he said. “No wrap is going to contour your face like a deep plane facelift or even proper skincare. This may be cute for TikTok, but not doing much for facial anatomy.”

So it looks like there’s no need to feel any face wrap FOMO. Spend that money on some high-end makeup instead!
