It’s not often that NBA icon Stephen Curry feels the need to check someone about his wife. In fact, Curry’s let most jokes and trolling about Ayesha Curry go without addressing.

But when rapper Killer Mike made a slick comment, Curry gave a rare response, shutting him down in the most classy but damning way possible.
It all started when influencer and artist Bookie Woodz made a video accused Ayesha of allegedly wanting to cheat on Curry. “Ayesha Curry is putting in maximum effort to let the world know that she is struggling with trying not to cheat on her husband,” Woodz began on TikTok.
The Currys have been married since 2011. Together they have two daughters, Riley and Ryan; and two sons, Canon and Caius. Still, Woodz said Ayesha is not happy. “She can just smell an opportunity to embarrass this man,” Woodz added. “She wants to go be GloRilla or some sh*t. Like, we get it, bro. Just go drop an album or some sh*t.”
Now, this isn’t the first time Woodz has made a video about Ayesha… But what made his recent attack on Curry’s wife so special is the 1.2 million views the video got and the one Atlanta rapper who felt the need to chime in.
Killer Mike — real name Michael Santiago Render — took to social media comments to laugh along with Woodz’s joke. “My n***a said she wanna go be Glo,” he said. “Man Steph doesn’t deserve the embarrassment frfr. God bless him.”
That’s when Curry stepped in to call out the rapper and defend his wife’s name.
“Naaaaa not you Mike,” Curry began in a now-deleted reply, BillBoard reported. “I’m cool stating and letting these other clowns have they’re moment,” adding that Woodz is “the worst of them.” Curry continued addressing the Run the Jewels artist. “But you’re better than that… Stay in your lane and let God keep blessing me like he is. We r good over here.”
Curry capped off the message with a peace sign emoji for extra razzle dazzle.
If you know anything about the Golden State Warriors point guard, then you know exactly how out of character his response is. Ayesha, on the other hand, has been vocal about their marriage. In an interview with the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, she said Curry changed her life completely.
“I thought I was gonna be a career girl and that’s it,” Ayesha said. “I was never the little girl that dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that. And then it happened so early in my life.”
Ayesha met her husband when they were teens, and after Curry went pro, they quickly started their family. “I remember there being a shift and being like, ‘I have goals for myself. This doesn’t feel right,’” Ayesha continued. “I love being a mom, but I love doing other things too. And I need to get my sh*t together and figure out what that looks like for myself now.”
