DJ Mustard has some choice words about Drake in his latest interview. The producer behind Kendrick Lamarβs smash hit (and Drake diss record) βNot Like Usβ sat down with The Los Angeles Times, opening up about his career and of course, his current song of the summer with Lamar.
Unless youβve lived under a rock, βNot Like Usβ is everywhere. Lamarβs hit single came after a flurry of songs in his back-and-forth with Drake earlier this year, but it is by far his most successful. The penultimate blow in the rap battle, the song made it to No. 1 on the Hot 100 and has dominated radio and streaming charts all summer.

When asked if he would ever produce a song for Drake in the interview, Mustard simply said to the Times, βI donβt think I want to make a song with that dude.β He added, βHeβs a strange guy.β
As for working with Lamar, however, Mustard calls him, βa genius.β He explains, βHe does the unthinkable every time. And on a human level β just as a normal person β I like his style.β He went on to talk about how even after all of this success, Lamar has not taken to social media to boast about his wins like many of his peers and contemporaries.
βHis whole mystique gives me the same vibes as Prince,β he continued. βEven now [after the success of βNot Like Usβ], the guy has not posted anything. I told him, βI donβt know how you do that shit. Me, Iβd be like, βYeah, Iβm No. 1!ββ
Of course, the subject of the Grammys came up, and if the producer has let himself think ahead about the biggest night and music (and if their hit record may take home some major awards). He said, βMaaannn ... and think about if we win. Thatβs a big night. Big win for the Coast.β
