After the shocking death of rapper Chris King, celebrities have taken to social media to mourn the artist. King, whose real name was Christopher Cheeks, died on Saturday (April 20) according to a press release from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
A 29-year-old man and King were with a group of friends when three men approached them and allegedly attempted to rob them. Gunfire rang out and King was later found in the parking garage of the Hayes Street Hotel. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

βWow. I canβt believe Iβm saying rest in peace. This is terrible..You always knew how to make everyone laugh. Your kindness was present no matter what room you were in. Everybody was and wanted to be your friend. We will miss you. Until we meet again, rest heavenly brother.β
On his Instagram stories, pop star Justin Bieber wrote βLove you bro. This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise brother.β
Rapper Machine Gun Kelly also wrote that βchris was rare.β
Nashville Police Department has stated that βHomicide Unit detectives are working strongβ and actively pursuing leads regardingΒ the case.
