White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has seemingly had enough of the skepticism surrounding President Joe Bidenβs cognitive abilities. On Tuesday, Jean-Pierre had to check a North Carolina radio show host when he asked about Bidenβs thinking and memory skills.
WBT Charlotte radio host Mark Garrison stated: βWhen I told a number of people that I was talking to you today. It was interesting, though, they all said, Would you please just ask her: Does the President have dementia? So before I move on from it: Does he?β

Jean-Pierre immediately retorted with βMark, Mark, I canβt even believe youβre asking me this question. That is an incredibly offensive question to ask.β When Garrison insisted that people want to know, she countered with βYouβre taking us down this rabbit hole.β
Jean-Pierre continued:
βLet me very clear about this. For the past several years, the Presidentβs physician has laid out very, in a comprehensive way, the Presidentβs health. This is a president, if you watch him every day, if you really pay attention to his record and what he has done, you will see exactly how focused he has been on the American people, how historic his actions have been. And so Iβm not even going to truly, truly really, you know, take the premise of your question. I think it is incredibly insulting. And so we can, you know, we can move on to the next question.β
Garrison tried to move the conversation forward by asking about inflation, but Jean-Pierre decided to simply keep it moving. βAll the important groceries, those costs have gone down because of what this President has been able to do,β Jean-Pierre responded. βAnd with that, thank you so much, Mark. Have an amazing, amazing day.β
Though Garrison was doing his best to cause a stir, this countryβs first Black woman press secretary politely put him in his placeβand honestly he should have seen it coming.
