It looks like one of the biggest streamers in history is ready for a career change… Well, sort of. Kai Cenat has undoubtedly mastered the art of streaming, but after a series of controversies and recently chopping off his hair, the influencer made a shocking announcement.

In a YouTube video titled “I Quit,” he began, “I feel like sometimes, people need to self reflect and take a step back from the broad perspective of what their life has been.” Cenat, who is the most followed streamer on Twitch with over 20 million followers, added, “The energy and passion to want to do more and create is within me…That is why I quit.”
The Tuesday announcement quickly went viral, gaining over 2.5 million views in 18 hours. Expectedly, Cenat’s declaration had his fanbase questioning what exactly he meant by “I quit.” In the rest of the 23-minute long video, Cenat explained.
He’s stepping back from societal expectations tied to his streaming fame. “I think about the goals I want,” Cenat clarified. “I don’t reach them because I’m only known for one thing.” The streamer explained that his unthinkable success has somehow landed him in a box. “I’m not even depressed, I’m not sad, it’s just for some reason I’m having a lot of self-doubt…it’s out of fear of stepping back from what I’m primarily known for,” he told his mother in the video.
“I quit overthinking,” he added. “I quit staying in my head about the goals I have and whether they are going to work or not. I want to push limits to see what I can truly create in life.” Now, he’s breaking out of that box to create a new path in the fashion industry with the help of one of the biggest names in the industry.
In the YouTube video, Cenat flew to Italy to learn how to make fabrics and denim from clothing experts. He also announced his new clothing brand will be titled Vivet, Latin for “he/she/it will live.” It seems like Cenat is dedicating to learning the basics and starting his fashion journey.
He also clarified his pivot to fashion wasn’t just a spur of the moment decision. In fact, Cenat has long dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. “This is not just me slapping my name on any brand,” he told celebrity stylist Law Roach in the video. “I want to build this community.”
It also seems Cenat is working on self-improvement and taking fans along for the ride. The influencer revealed he has a secret channel, kai’s Mind, where he’s been posting unedited content of him learning how to sow, read and work out. Fans online can’t get enough of Cenat’s new journey.

Many folks praised Cenat for documenting his journey publicly. “I don’t think people understand how important this part is when chasing your dreams,” @boymolish tweeted.
“This is insanely vulnerable and guaranteed, some kids that watch him and struggle with their literacy are going to start doing the same,” @dexbonus tweeted. “Watching a person you look up to show the work and the struggle makes you feel less alone.”
