Jonathan Majors may have had a tumultuous past year, but things may be changing for the better soon. Or at least, that’s the hope some fans are expressing after a trailer for his upcoming film released on Wednesday.
Titled “Magazine Dreams,” Majors stars as a socially awkward man who dreams of becoming the next, great body builder and will do anything to obtain it. The intense film originally screened at Sundance Film Festival back in 2023 with early reviews and critics praising Majors’ performance, even going so far as suggesting that this could be the vehicle that finally garners him the coveted Oscar nomination.

However, as bad luck would have it, his Hollywood career was swiftly derailed thanks to his domestic dispute trial which resulted in him losing roles; PR and management representation; brand deals and eventually being found guilty of “one count of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment.” “Magazine Dreams” was also dropped from distribution amid his legal battles.
As a result, Majors spent most of 2024 out of the limelight save for occasional photo opps with his now-fiancee Meagan Good and it seemed like the aforementioned film would be shelved indefinitely. Now, thanks to a marketing partnership with Zeus Network and the backing of Briarcliff Entertainment, the film is set to be released in theaters on March 21, 2025.
Once the trailer hit social media, fans were quick to side with the former Marvel star and express their excitement over the forthcoming move and Majors’ comeback.
“The trailer for Magazine Dreams looks incredible. This comeback is going to be insane for Jonathan Majors. A fresh new start. We’ll be there no matter what. March 21st. Let’s Gooo!!!” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Everybody loves a good comeback story. Finally we have the trailer for “Magazine Dreams” starring Jonathan Majors. Look man I don’t f*ck with what happened but I’m always here for a come back. Just keep working. This actually looks dope,” said another.
“Streets is saying Jonathan Majors comeback will be generational,” another user commented.
Added another, “Here’s the thing. Jonathan Majors is a generational talent. It makes me even more angry him. Mans is talented enough to bring acclaim to Zeus Films. Fucking ZEUS. Magazine Dreams panders to his new core fans, so he’s about to bounce back.”
Over on YouTube, viewers of the trailer echoed similar sentiments with one user writing, “Rooting for this young man to go far. Media and some members of his community try to tear him apart, clearly that hasn’t succeeded. Glad he is rising above the crazy. More power to him.”
Said another, “Johnathan is born for acting he’s the goat ! One of the best actors of this generation. Comeback about to be serious. Im rooting for you J [sic].”
“This is more than a performance, it’s a complete transformation: physical, mental, spiritual. Jonathan Majors will make movie history in Magazine Dreams,” one other user wrote.
We all know by now that an undeniably great film can do wonders for actors when it comes to rehabilitating their image, however it’ll be interesting to see how fans react to his intense portrayal given what all has previously transpired. Seeing Majors completely dissolve himself into the role, which some may find problematic and disturbing in some moments, may cause some viewers to question whether or not mental preparation for a project of this magnitude had a negative impact on him and if it mainfested itself in other ways.
And while we won’t probably know for sure, it’s clear to see that the appetite for Majors’ artistry is still there and people are indeed rooting for this film to clear the path for his return in the industry. Only time will tell if that’ll be the case after all.
