Despite a pretty public fall from grace in Hollywood after he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree, the two have remained steady through it all. Most recently, Majors and Good announced they are ready to take their relationship to the next level: marriage.

We’re looking back on their relationship so far, from when they first appeared together on the red carpet, to their eventual engagement announcement.

The “Eve’s Bayou” actress and the former MCU star were first spotted together in May of 2023, with PEOPLE Magazine confirming that the two were indeed an item. For context, this was just two months after Majors’ arrest in New York City and just weeks after he appeared virtually in court.

In the summer that followed, Good was seen by Majors’ side, appearing alongside him during his first court appearances following his arrest. Despite the allegations against him and intense chatter online, Good’s support for Majors was clear, as photos of the two leaving court appearances took off online. A source told People at the time, “She wouldn’t be out and about with him so publicly or be supporting him in his legal situation if the relationship didn’t mean something to her.”

Weeks after the verdict, Majors appeared on Good Morning America to speak publicly about the misdemeanor charge, as well as his new relationship. In case you forgot, one curious aspect of his arrest was audio of Majors that the jury listened to of him telling his ex-girlfriend he needed a partner that “lived up to the standards of Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama.” In his interview with GMA, he explained that he feels he found that in Good.

“She’s an angel. She’s held me down like a Coretta, I’m so blessed to have her. The relationship is still fresh you know, but I think I found her,” he explained.

The two made their official red carpet debut in winter 2024. Attending the AAFCA Special Achievement Honorees Luncheon at The Los Angeles Athletic Club, Good rocked a yellow dress, while Majors sported a beret, blue sweater and grey coat. When asked how they were doing by Extra, Good told the outlet, “We’re doing great. God’s good.”

In an interview on Hoda & Jenna last year, Good spoke more than ever about her new relationship, just two months after Majors was sentenced to attend a one-year “batterers” intervention program in LA, per People. She told the morning show hosts at the time that despite “everyone” warning against her going public so fast with her relationship, she kept her faith in God.

“No matter whatever happens, I have peace in my heart and have harmony in my heart,” she explained. “And it’s only when I do something based on someone else saying ‘well I think you should do this…I take everyone I love’s opinion into account, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to have to live my life.”

Michael Ealy Video Controversy

The video that had everyone talking came last year when Good reunited with Michael Ealy at PowerPlayers Mix & Mingle event in Los Angeles while the actress was busy promoting her film “Divorce in the Black.” In the viral clip, Ealy gives Good a big hug and lifts her up off the ground, all while Majors awkwardly watches the interaction.

The exchange went viral on the internet, as we reported, with many criticizing both Ealy and Good for such an intimate exchange while completely ignoring Majors. Once the full clip was released, however, it was revealed Ealy greeted Majors first, putting the intense speculation and scrutiny of the exchange to rest.
