Against the backdrop of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at the March on Washington, and the reinvigorated discussion about race surrounding George Zimmerman's acquittal, the "Martin Moment" series will facilitate four in-depth conversations about the progress made in the past half-century and the most urgent racial-justice issues of 2013.
Activists, advocates and other influencers will encourage those who tune in to take stock of these questions through the eyes of the late civil rights leader and to work toward this generation's "Martin Moment." The series will culminate with a final segment on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at 6 p.m. EDT. Moderators will include The Root's Corey Dade and Jenée Desmond-Harris, as well as Charlene Carruthers of the Black Youth Project and Larry Brown of the NAACP.
