To bring the spirit of the TheΒ Root 100 list of influential Black Americans to life, The Root invites all readers to celebrate with us on December 5 in New York City!

Come take a seat at the legendary Apollo Theater for a night of comedy, live music, and inspiration, all hosted by the extraordinary Roy Wood Jr., actor, stand-up comedian, Emmy-nominated producer of PBS documentary The Neutral Ground, correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy-winning The Daily Show (2015-2023), and 2023 headliner of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.The evening’s full lineup will be announced shortly!

In addition to these honoree moments, performances from gospel artist Naomi Raine, rapper (and Brown University professor) SΞ”MMUS, jazz vocalist Candice Hoyes and comedian Loni Love lit up the crowd.
