Jeezy Tells the Wild, Unbelievable Story of the White Dude Who Got Him To a Baltimore Concert on Time

“There was no way I was missing out on Baltimore!” the “Soul Survivor” said in an August 4 social media post.

Rapper Jeezy showed his fans just how much they mean to him after going above and beyond to make it to a scheduled stop in Baltimore on his  “TM:101 Live” tour, honoring the 20th anniversary of his debut album “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101.”

The “Soul Survivor” rapper experienced a series of unfortunate events while trying to make his way from Atlanta to Maryland for an Aug. 1 performance at The Lyric Baltimore.

“I woke up to my team informing me that all flights to Baltimore and D.C. had been canceled,” he shared in an Aug. 4 social media post.

Jeezy wasn’t about to let a little thing like a flight cancellation stop him from getting to his show, so his team made arrangements for his driver to pick him up and take him to his final destination. But, of course, you already know there’s a lot more to the story – otherwise we wouldn’t be talking about it, right?

Just two hours into their road trip, Jeezy said his driver hit something on the highway which punctured the gas tank and caused a fuel leak. Now stuck in South Carolina, Jeezy’s people tried to coordinate a private jet to Baltimore, but decided against it, thinking the weather issues would cause him to be late for the show.

After abandoning plans A, B and C, Jeezy’s team called an Uber to take him to a car rental location at the airport, but instead of switching cars again, the rapper decided to ask his driver to take him the rest of the way promising to pay him whatever he asked.

“Like real one, he didn’t hesitate and just kept driving. Ten hours later, we arrived in Baltimore just ten minutes before showtime! I told him he made a lot of people happy tonight! Gave him a Snowman Tee and told him he was my guest for the show tonight!” Jeezy continued in his post.”

@jeezy

I woke up to my team informing me that all flights to Baltimore and D.C. had been canceled. They then told me that my driver was on his way to pick me up, so we could drive to Baltimore for the next stop on the tour. Two hours into our drive, we hit an object on the highway, puncturing the gas tank and causing fuel to leak everywhere. We pulled over to a small gas station to regroup in SC. My team tried to arrange a jet from South Carolina to Baltimore, but with the flights canceled do to weather, we weren’t sure if the jet would get us there on time, risking another cancellation. Next, we called an Uber to take us to a rental car location at the airport. When the Uber driver arrived, he quickly loaded our bags and sped off. Eight minutes into the ride, I turned to him and said, “Hey, we need to go to Baltimore.” I asked how much he’d charge to take us there, and after a moment of consideration, he replied, “Let me think about it.” I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it. Like real one, he didn’t hesitate and just kept driving. Ten hours later, we arrived in Baltimore just ten minutes before showtime! I told him he made a lot of people happy tonight! Gave him a Snowman Tee and told him he was my guest for the show tonight! Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes! P.S. There was no way I was missing out on Baltimore! ⛄️‼️#fyp #jeezy #holyairball

He went on to give a shout out to his driver, Tanner, who he called “the real MVP.”

Commenters agreed and heaped praise on the driver for helping make sure the show would go on. Tanner, who is white, also got himself a standing invitation to the cookout.

“You know what, Tanner?! Whenever you wanna come to the BBQ, just pull up! You our cousin now!” wrote someone in the comments on Instagram.
