In news that can only be described as “you’ve got to be kidding me,” Jay-Z is finally responding to an outrageous lawsuit, stemming from a years-long allegation. But things may not pan out the way he wants.

Per court documents, the “4:44″ rapper has found himself at the center of a federal lawsuit filed against him by a man named Rymir Satterthwaite. If this name sounds familiar, then it’s probably because Satterwaite has been alleging for years that he’s the unacknowledged, illegitimate son of the popular rapper. In his suit, which he filed in May, he alleges that Jay got his mother Wanda pregnant in the 1990s and has essentially been ducking and dodging paternity tests and suits ever since. Though his mother has since passed away, Satterwaite claims his godmother has been subjected to “unrelenting efforts by [Jay-Z] and his enablers to suppress the truth and silence those who dared to speak it,” according to US Weekly.
He also alleged that the “Encore” rapper and his team have “exploited legal systems in multiple jurisdictions to suppress [Rymir’s] paternity claim and prevent legal accountability.” While he’s not seeking any sort of back child support, Satterwaite is looking to collect on damages that he feels he’s suffered including emotional and psychological distress, anxiety, public embarrassment and stress-induced health complications and more.
Now Jay-Z’s fighting back through his lawyers who say that the suit is just another part of the “decades-long harassment” the rapper’s been facing at the hands of Satterwaite and that it’s all lies. They also said that the “Change Clothes” rapper was just made aware of this latest suit at the top of June and is asking the courts for more time to properly address it.
“The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed – and rejected — in multiple other courts and [Satterthwaite’s] continued harassment of [Jay-Z] and disregard of those orders has already resulted in a contempt order,” Jay’s lawyers said. “[Jay-Z] will be irreparably prejudiced without additional time to evaluate and prepare his response to the complaint.”
And while these allegations may be a years-long thing, the most interesting thing about the whole case is how much Satterwaite and Jay-Z actually favor each other. In fact, the two look so much alike that people online are lowkey starting to side with him instead of the “On To the Next One” rapper and pondering just how decades of denying a potential child would alter his reputation.
“I’m not going to lie, if it comes out that this is Jay Z son forreal and Jay went all these years with ignoring this boy then Jay Z ain’t the nigga y’all think he is bcus that’s some loser ass shit,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Lab blah just take the test and stop wasting tax payer money. Prove The boy wrong so EVERYONE can move on!” one other user said. “All this shows is you have something to hide honestly. You could have went on Maury years ago it would’ve been big & a memory remembered but you won’t take a dna test?”
“Only reason Jay won’t accept it, is because the girl was underage. Think about it, you just give them money and move on. You can’t do that here because it would just show the mom was underage at the time, even if she’s not pursuing legal action, the public will eat him up,” another user theorized.
Added another: “Any man running from a DNA test, knows there’s a high possibility.”
