In the months that followed, as he recovered, he and his family kept details private, leading to wild internet speculation. In the special β taped Oct. 4, 5 and 6 β Foxx finally tells his side of what he went through.
According to Page Six, some audience members at the tapings revealed that the βSlow Jamzβ singer claimed the embattled music mogul is responsible for his medical issues.
Videographer/producer/director Choke No Joke spoke to Comedy Hypeβs YouTube channel about what he saw when he attended two nights of the special. He alleges that Foxx explained to the audience, βDiddy was responsible for what happened to him, and [Foxx] is the one who called the FBI on [Combs].β
When asked whether the βAny Given Sundayβ actor was making a joke, Choke doesnβt seem to think so.
βYβall can determine [if] was he joking or not when you see the show, βcause to me β Iβm a new comedian β¦ I know when somebodyβs setting up a punchline, and I know when youβre serious,β Choke said, adding that he wasnβt trying to βgive away [Foxxβs] jokes.β
Keep in mind that comedy is subjective and this is one personβs experience and recollection of the shows in question. While Choke didnβt think the actor/singer was joking, itβs possible Foxxβs intentions were meant to be humorous and his time away from stand up made his delivery rusty.
Celebrity security guard Big Homie .CC told Cam Caponeβs YouTube channel, βI know [Combs] poisoned Jamie Foxx, and Jamie Foxx reported him to the FBI because of itβ¦Jamie Foxx reported this man to the FBI because of this.β He revealed to Page Six that he heard the βBeat Shazamβ host say this while attending two tapings with a client.
(Itβs worth noting that most of his conversation definitely goes into conspiracy theory territory.)
There have been very few details released about Foxxβs shows. Choke No Joke claims the audienceβs phones were confiscated before the tapings began, which is common for big-name stand up specials like this.
Dennis L.A. White, who said he was at the Oct. 5 and 6 tapings, told Page Six that what he heard was more like, βPeople keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He was not responsible. If he was, I wouldβve been dead.β He also claims he doesnβt remember Jamie discussing βthe federal government or law enforcement,β though he did joke about βbaby oil.β
If weβre being honest, some of these accounts sound like crazy internet conspiracy theories, so weβre reluctant to totally buy into them. Plus, if Foxx seriously claimed Diddy poisoned him during these shows...we feel like more of the audience would be talking about it.
Also,Β if the βIn Living Colorβ actor really wanted the special to be about him and his experience, why would he drag Diddy into it, other than to get a few quick laughs?
