It's clear that Jackson, the son of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, is making his health a priority. What's less clear is whether he'll decide that he can balance that with another term in office โ€” a question that neither he nor his staff have addressed:

The hospital released a statement Wednesday on Jackson's behalf. It reiterates Jackson left Mayo Tuesday and that he continues to cope with Bipolar II. Mayo says Jackson's treatment to manage depression is ongoing.

Jackson and his family say they're grateful for the support and prayers.

No other details were released.

Jackson's whereabouts remained unclear Wednesday. Neither his staff nor family has said if he'll return to office after he won re-election last week. He didn't appear in Chicago or Washington after leaving Mayo.ย
