Bad Boy CEO Sean βDiddyβ Combs and alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter Luigi Mangione being locked up together was certainly not on our bingo card for last year. However, sources told several publications that the rap mogul is envious of the attention the young man has been receiving.
Since arriving in the Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn, The Daily Mail reports Mangione has been held in protective custody. Though, his name has been sensationalized throughout the facility just as it has on social media. The report says Mangione received a warm welcome from other inmates who pat him on the back citing their beef with health insurance.

However, Combs, who is jailed in the facility on sex trafficking charges, seems to have feelings about Mangioneβs case dominating the conversation.
βDiddy has been throwing tantrums over the fact that Luigi is getting all of the attention in prison and is being revered as a hero after literally murdering someone on camera,β a source told The New York Post. βEven in prison, Diddyβs ego is bigger than life.β
The 55-year-old music mogul was previously accused by insiders of receiving special treatment behind bars. Prosecutors accused the rapper of abusing his power from within the jail to attempt to intimidate witnesses by using his children to do his dirty work and using other inmates to bend other jail rules. On Monday, Sept. 16, the 55-year-old rap mogul was arrested in Manhattan by federal authorities, six months after they raided his two homes in Los Angeles and Miami. His indictment was unsealed the following morning, revealing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and engaging in interstate transportation for prostitution. The allegations against Combs include sexual abuse, physical abuse, bribery and various drug offenses.
The most notable claims stem from his so-called βfreak offβ sex parties, where prosecutors allege women and men were drugged and forced to perform sexual acts at Combsβ pleasure. He was also accused of using video footage to blackmail the victims into compliance.
He has pleaded not guilty, and was denied bail. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
