Welcome to the family, Tom! Kicking off Black History Month strong, recently engaged couple Zendaya and Tom Holland were spotted in great spirits at one of the actress’ family functions. And in the midst of all the dancing and baby holding, it seems Holland stole the show!
A now viral clip taken by one of Zendaya’s relatives shows Holland completely holding his own while navigating the large, mostly Black crowd. And you know Black people: Once we give you a nickname, it sticks...so it seems as Zendaya and Holland continue to build their future, he’ll forever be known as “Uncle Spiderman,” just as X user @ItsTotallyKi predicts.

On X, many people were surprised to see that Zendaya’s family is “slamming the big joker black,” like user @AskWhy05. But even though the “Euphoria” actress is half Black, let’s be clear... Zendaya has always claimed her Black roots. Whether its wearing protective styles on the red carpet or speaking on colorism and other issues affecting the Black community, Zendaya clearly knows her history and celebrates her roots.
User @popculturebitc spelled it out perfectly for those who are unaware. Zendaya’s “Mom is white, dad is Blackity black,” they wrote. “...Zendaya is from Oakland, her aunties were black panthers, she grew up in a house that had civil rights meetings.”
All the fuss over Zendaya’s Black family sparked chatter online. User @DynamoSuperX wrote “y’all tell mixed ppl they ain’t black and be shocked when half the family be black.” Also, the woman’s name is Zendaya. What else did you expect her people to look like??
Regardless, Zendaya and her man were clearly having a great time. So much so that Holland was seen hanging out with the fam without Zendaya being anywhere around.
X user @imperfection242 wrote Zendaya “leaving him to fend for himself is the blackest thing any woman can do at family events.” And at some point, the “Spiderman” star was spotted holding someone’s baby. If that doesn’t say he’s family, then we don’t know what does!
User @BlkNerdtalk tweeted saying they “Got that boy holding babies and callin him nicknames, bro is in there for life!”
With celebration in the air, it’s clear Zendaya and Holland are a great match for each other. X user @taeseru said “there’s something about a personable man you can take anywhere, zendaya baby congratulations.” Next time, we just want to see Spiderman on the dance floor!
