Folks online are both touched and amused after the actress posted a video struggling to contain her emotions after finally making it to the island. In the post, Herrold added the caption, “Landed in Jamaica, where my people are from, for the first time ever. Barely touched the ground and I’m already a mess. This song was the final nail in the coffin.”

The song the “Bodies Bodies Bodies” star is referring to is a remix of Alphaville’s iconic 80s hit, “Forever Young.” Except in the TikTok video, an artist is singing, “Everybody wants to visit Jamaica. Jamaica Love. We wanna be Jamaica Love.” The song loops multiple times, causing Herrold to break out in hysterics.

In the comments, users added that they had similar reactions the first time they visited the countries their ancestors are from.

“Exactly how I felt when I went to Cabo Verde for the first time this year. That ancestral soul hits different,” wrote one user.

“Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. Welcome to Jamaica,” added Delta Airlines, the company Herrold flew with.

“Lol me. Literally every time I land back home, I’m bawling. We are connected to the land. Enjoy,” added another.

While folks on TikTok shared their experiences of what it felt like visiting their homeland for the first time, others—including Herrold—could not hold back their laughter at the hilarious song.

“I was also laughing like the whole thing was ridiculous and SO real,” Herrold admitted in the comments.

“This song is jokes, sister,” wrote one user.

“Why can’t you guys let someone be sentimental on this app?” asked another user with laughing emojis.

“Bomba u no even touch base yet,” added another.
