Idris Elba Stars in New Calvin Klein Ad, But Which Black Celeb’s Campaign Was the Sexiest?

Actor Idris Elba has taken on the coveted role of being the face of Calvin Klein , starring in the iconic brand’s spring menswear 2024 campaign.

His wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, took to her Instagram to announce her hubby’s newest accomplishment with the hilarious caption, “Ladies and gentlemen…our husband.” Props to her for sharing this eye candy.

In the black-and-white filtered video, you’ll see something we don’t usually expect from a hot, male celebrity modeling Calvin Klein, a fully clothed Elba. The “Luther” star opted for sexy poses in long-sleeved shirts, jackets, and slacks, rather than showing off a bare torso. However, we’re not complaining. It doesn’t take Elba showing skin for us to know he’s a good-looking guy.

The actor, whose hit Apple+ show “Hijack” was just renewed for a second season, joins a respectable list of other Black men who have graced a Calvin Klein campaign. Over the years the underwear and apparel brand has blessed fans with many of the most popular men of the year in revealing photoshoot, with some people’s pictures being posted on billboards across the country.

In 2017, the cast of the Oscar-winning film “Moonlight”: Mahershala Ali, Ashton Sanders, and Trevante Rhodes posed for a feature.

Rihanna’s boyfriend A$AP Rocky also had a colorful campaign in 2019.

Damson Idris had us swooning in 2021 for the #MyCalvins: The Language of Calvin Klein campaign, which featured other young artists and actors as well.

And then, of course, there is Michael B. Jordan, showing off his lean, “Creed” body in 2023, which nearly shut the internet down.

Sure, seeing some abs makes some people swoon, but there’s something about seeing 50-plus-year-old Elba that gives us heart eyes. In 2018, the “Luther” actor was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, rightfully so. However, even in that campaign, the star was fully clothed, but sexier than ever.
