There’s no question regarding which religion MAGA supporters mostly subscribe to. From President Donald Trump’s promise to get right with the Lord so he can go to heaven to Charlie Kirk’s memorial service being reminiscent of Sunday service, it’s clear Trump and many of his allies believe in the same Christian god.

And then there’s Peter Thiel, Trump’s billionaire buddy who just can’t stop obsessing over the Antichrist.
We previously told you all about Thiel and his questionable ties. The German-born, South African-raised CEO has signaled alarms from folks claiming Thiel’s Neo-Nazi ties are dangerous. Now, the PayPal co-founder is doubling down on his controversial reputation with a series of lectures that’s catching everyone’s attention.
If the term isn’t obvious enough, “Antichrist” refers to the Bible’s prophecy of an opponent to Jesus Christ. Christians believe the Antichrist signals all things evil, including the end of the world. According to Thiel, the Antichrist isn’t just a simple prophecy. It’s something to be worried about.
Thiel’s Belief About the ‘Antichrist’
During a private four-part, eight-hour lecture series, Thiel spoke to crowds in San Francisco about concerns that a global power will rise and take over the world. This Antichrist would create one ruling government in order to stop something like climate change, artificial intelligence or nuclear war, Reuters reported.
To many, the thought of putting a stop to the riskiest entities facing the globe might sound like a good idea. Thiel, however, believes this Antichrist would mean the end of all technological innovations and individual freedoms, and under Trump, that’s the last thing he wants.
Is Trump the ‘New Messiah?’
The president and Thiel’s friendship go way back to his first term, so when asked if Trump could possibly be this unnamed Antichrist, you could probably guess his response.
“What I would say is that you can be as deranged a liberal as you want to be,” Thiel began, according to the Times. “I’ll give you a hearing if you believe in a sincere way, not like the people outside, but in a sincere, rational, well-reasoned way, and are willing to make the argument that Trump is the Antichrist. I will give you a hearing. And we should consider that.”
In Thiel and MAGA’s eyes, Trump can do almost no wrong. In fact, we previously told you many of his supporters believe he’s somewhat of a “savior” of America and perhaps the rest of the world. Pastor Shane Vaughn, a known MAGA supporter, even deemed Trump the new Messiah. But as MAGA continues to run with the theory that the president is closer to Christ than not, there’s some issues that may arise.
What Can Go Wrong?
Trump is focused on maintaining that he’s a “president of peace.” This was evident in his failed bid to secure a Nobel Peace Prize and his self-proclaimed mandate to “Make America Great Again.” But in a world where every country is connected through the world wide web and global trade, Thiel’s Antichrist theory might not go over well with Trump’s adversaries.
Multiple attempts have already been made on Trump’s life. This on top of continuous health scares puts the 79-year-old at risk. If there is an Antichrist lurking in the shadows, then Thiel’s obsession is only helping put a fat target on the president’s back.
