This year’s Golden Globes is sure to have folks on the edge of their seats, as 2025 was a year packed with great films and TV. Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” has seven chances to take home the golden trophy, with nominations in categories including Best Original Score, Best Screenplay, and Best Director. The film’s leading man, Michael B. Jordan, was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor, and he’ll be up against Dwayne Johnson for the sports film “The Smashing Machine.”

Jordan’s “Creed” co-star, Tessa Thompson, is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in the 2025 romance “Hedda.” Meanwhile, Cynthia Erivo might win the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy with her “Wicked” magic.

Erivo will be up against 2025’s breakout star, Chase Infiniti, who starred in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another.” Teyana Taylor has also been nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role in the dark comedy film.

When it comes to TV, Trammell Tillman is in the running for Best Performance in a Supporting Role for “Severance.” He’ll be up against British actor Ashley Walters, who played a detective in the Netflix hit series “Adolescence.”

“This Is Us” star Sterling K. Brown might win the prize for Best Performance by a Male Actor for his portrayal of Xavier Collins in the show “Paradise.” And in a league of his own, Kevin Hart has been nominated for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for his Netflix special, “Acting My Age.”

Rashida Jones is nominated for Best Performance in a Limited Series for her role in the season seven premiere of “Black Mirror,” and Ayo Edebiri could take home her second Golden Globe award for her performance in the Hulu series “The Bear.” To sum it up, it’s going to be a tough competition and an exciting watch!
