Fans who have been following the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs were glued to their timelines as they waited to hear the results of his official sentencing on October 3. While everyone and their auntie had an argument for whether or not they believed Combs should have received the maximum 11.2-year sentence that the government was asking for, he apparently believed he would have been walking out of his sentencing hearing a free man. And the internet is trolling!

The Bad Boy Records’ founder has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, since his September 2024 arrest. His legal defense team made their case for why he should be free, arguing that after spending a little more than a year in jail, he should be allowed to go home to “continue his treatment and try to make the most” of his time on the outside.
But the prosecution was not buying the idea that Combs had changed, arguing that after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, he “doesn’t fully grapple with how his actions got him here.”
The government’s lawyers shared that Combs had already booked speaking engagements in Miami for the week of October 6, something Prosecutor Christy Slavik called “the height of hubris.” In the end, Combs had to cancel his plans in the 305 after a judge sentenced him to four years and two months behind bars.
Social media had fun trolling Combs for thinking he would be setting out on his comeback tour after his sentencing hearing. One X user posted a hilarious meme of former Bravo reality TV star Nene Leakes engaging with fans, captioning the post, “This what diddy though he was gon do next week in Miami!”
Others joked that he would have to push his plans back a bit until he serves his time.
“Reschedule for 50 months🤣🤣🤣,” wrote someone on TikTok.
But the most hilarious reaction came from another big name in hip hop, rapper/entrepreneur 50 Cent, who offered to fill in for the music mogul who will have to spend a little more time locked up.
“Hey to whoever was booking Diddy for speaking engagement. I heard he won’t be able to make it, I’m available,” he wrote on X.
Combs also received a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release once he is released— in November 2028.
