Though Michael B. Jordan didn’t walk away as the winner for Best Actor at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, he was still a hot topic thanks to host Nikki Glaser’s unforgettable, rauchy, and hilarious joke about him. But it was Jordan’s mom who ultimately stole the show. Don’t worry, we’ll explain.

You see Donna Jordan accompanied her son to the 83rd annual show and has been his date and looked ravishing in a turquoise blue ensemble as she walked the red carpet hand-in-hand with him. Once they were inside for the show, Donna sat right beside the “Sinners” star–in perfect view of the camera.
So naturally, once Glaser began doing one of her bits for the night and seeing as how Michael was nominated, she set her sights on messing with him. Only she didn’t just poke fun at, she decided to turn her joke into a dirty one–despite the fact that his own mother was in the same room.
“In ‘Sinners,’ Michael played two brothers,” Glaser began. “Am I allowed to say that? That doesn’t sound right, he played twins. And I can’t believe it, we got two Michael B. Jordans. When I saw that I was like ‘Nikki B. Jerking because that was awesome.”
After gauging both the crowd and Michael’s reaction–the latter of whom merely laughed it off–Glaser continued: “I’m sorry Michael, why did I make that joke? You’re one of the greatest–I know your mom. I’m so sorry, I should not have said that to you. That should’ve been a DM, my mistake. Mistake.”
His mother, however, may not have enjoyed that joke all that much as she was caught sipping her water and making a slight funny face after the words flew out Glaser’s mouth. Suffice to say, once the clip began making the rounds on social media, Miss Donna’s hilarious reaction became the talk of the timelines.
“Michael B. Jordan’s mom taking a drink after the ‘Nikki B. Jerking’ joke,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Michael B. Jordan’s MOTHER is right beside him,” said another.
Over on Instagram, one user joked: “His moms mortified.”
Added another, “Not his mom sippin water to digest that joke! Come on! You must know by now how hot your son is!?”
Another user quipped of Donna’s reaction: “Mom, a new award show meme just dropped.”
