Ga. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was once the golden example of what a loyal supporter of President Donald Trump should look like. But oh, how the tables turn after health care, artificial intelligence and the infamous Epstein files have come into play.

The congresswoman is straying from Trump, and the consequences could be detrimental. Greene wouldn’t be the first nor the latest conservative to criticize the president… but she’s definitely one of the loudest.
She first marked her dissent back in June over the GOP-led “Big, Beautiful Bill Act,” we told you about. She signed the bill and passed it to the Senate, but almost immediately afterwards, Greene announced she had serious regrets.
“I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of state rights,” Greene said referring to a small provision in the bill which would’ve taken away state’s rights to regulate AI. “I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there,” she continued on X.
After admitting she didn’t read that part of the Trump-championed document, Greene said her constituents first brought the issue to her. Ever since Trump’s return, Greene– like many representatives– has been hearing an earful from everyday Americans, who take major issue with many of MAGA’s plans.
Greene even called out male Republicans who she said are “weak” in the face of the current government shutdown, the Washington Post reported. Greene spoke out against the fiscal struggle and promised to continue criticizing conservatives afraid to do what she said is the right thing.
“My district knows I ran for Congress trashing Republicans,” Greene said in an interview. “They voted for me because they agreed with that. My district’s not surprised.” But she doesn’t just have the smoke for conservatives… In fact, she’s gone after Trump in more ways than one.
Greene is one of many still demanding the release of the Epstein files. “Everyone that voted for Trump-Vance, everyone was like, release the Epstein Files! This is not even an argument. It’s not even debatable,” she said during an episode of the “Tim Dillon Show” podcast. “It’s not being a traitor to the president to sign my name on a Thomas Massie discharge petition to release the Epstein Files… I am staying true to what we’ve always said. There needs to be transparency,” the congresswoman continued.
Meanwhile, the president has been trying his best to quiet outrage over the files connected to the disgraced Hollywood financier. Greene doesn’t see her moves as an obvious dissent from Trump, but one House Republican told the Hill a completely different story.
“Whether it’s Gaza, whether it’s Epstein, or whether it’s now the ACA [Affordable Care Act] credits, she’s been 180 degrees opposite of Trump,” the unnamed Republican revealed of Greene. “In fact, she’s been more Biden than she has been Trump.”
Greene has even received props from Democrats like Minority House Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who praised her for having “a surprisingly enlightened few weeks,” the Hill also reported. As it stands now, Greene still considers herself a fierce MAGA politician, but the jury’s still out on whether her growing criticisms will land her in hot water within her own party.
