Hold Up! Ice Cube Lets Y’all Know How He Really Feels About Donald Trump…But Do We Believe Him?

The legendary rapper and actor took the time to clear up some misconceptions in a new interview.

Ice Cube is tired of folks thinking heโ€™s ride or die for former President Donald Trump and the Republican agendasโ€”and heโ€™s finally putting his foot down about it.

In a new interview with Baller Alert, Cube made it absolutely clear where he stands with Trump, explicitly coming out and saying that he isnโ€™t a supporter of him nor the Republicans.

โ€œPeople who think Iโ€™m MAGA or a Trump supporter and all that and went out there anD voted for the Republicansโ€”they got me fucked up. I never said that, they have no proof. I ainโ€™t never endorsed a candidate. So I think they got me fucked up. Itโ€™s just a narrative thatโ€™s wrong,โ€ he explained.

He then went on to share how he felt he got incorrectly mislabeled as a Trump supporter citing a meeting he had years ago with both the Republicans and Democrats to share his Contract With Black America.ย

While the Democrats said that theyโ€™d possibly adopt some of his ideas after they won the election, the Republicans asked to use a few of his ideas for their own โ€œPlatinum Planโ€ that was done โ€œin their own think tank,โ€ per Cube. Thanks to that, his name was unfortunately etched in connection with the party. But he alleges he was just a political pawn that they were trying to use.

โ€œPeople are saying that was my plan and so theyโ€™re running with it. But theyโ€™re the ones [who are] stupid because thatโ€™s not the truth. Once you are an impactful person and you talk to politicians, they will always try to use you as a political football and thatโ€™s what happened,โ€ Cube said. โ€œEverybody want me on their team...itโ€™s the game but we got to be smart enough to know itโ€™s a game.โ€

He went on to say that he could understand the criticism if he was out here campaigning and at conventions rallying for Trump but since he didnโ€™t he doesnโ€™t get it. He also made it clear that he didnโ€™t and wonโ€™t encourage people not to vote but rather the fact that they should be able to get something back for their vote instead.

On social media, however, it doesnโ€™t look like his explanation did well enough to convince some folks that he wasnโ€™t #TeamTrump.

โ€œHe def voted Trump but he donโ€™t want the backlash that comes with it,โ€ wrote one user in the comments section of the above post on Instagram.

โ€œLong story long you voted for Trump, gotcha,โ€ said another.

โ€œCube definitely voted for Trump, heโ€™s just sparing the controversy,โ€ another wrote.

Yet and still, there were still some that came to the legendary rapperโ€™s defense.

โ€œAnybody who thinks heโ€™s wrong for voting for Trump has not been paying attention,โ€ wrote one person.

โ€œHeโ€™s allowed to vote for whoever he pleases, end of discussions,โ€ another wrote.

โ€œBlack people canโ€™t fathom the idea that we have Black people who really donโ€™t trust the government. This new generation is weird!!โ€ said another.
