As 2024 nears its end, it should go without saying that there have been a lot of ups and a lot of downs for us all — especially for some of our favorite Black celebrity couples.
While some are still together and kicking, quite a handful have decided to part ways or finalize divorces, bringing an official end to their once happy relationships. And because this year has seen so many breakups, we thought we’d take a look back at some of of the uncouplings.
Let’s kick things off with Halle Bailey and DDG. The news of their breakup hit the internet at the top of October to the pleasure of many online who felt the latter rapper was dimming Bailey’s light. While “The Little Mermaid” star never came out and officially announced they were going their separate ways, DDG made a post to Instagram sharing the news and the fact that they were going to move forward being the best coparents to their nearly one-year-old son, Halo.
Cardi B. and Offset

At the top of Augst, Cardi B once again filed for divorce from her rapper husband Offset and is reportedly seeking primary custody of their children , daughter Kulture (5) and son Wave (2). This marks the second time Cardi filed, with the first happening back in 2020.
The news of this divorce shocked many as it was followed up by a pregnancy announcement less than 24 hours later with the “Bodak Yellow” rapper revealing she was expecting her third child, a baby girl who was born in September 2024.
Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson

Tina Knowles, mother to Beyonce and Solange Knowles, shocked fans back in July 2023 when she revealed she filed for divorce from Richard Lawson. Things were finalized in mid-August 2024, with the terms being that neither party will receive spousal support. But Tina would have to pay Richard a one-time lump sum of $300,000, along with several other items.
Lupita Nyong’o and Joshua Jackson

Lupita Nyong’o and Joshua Jackson, the ex-husband to Jodie Turner-Smith, first sparked rumors of their romance back in October 2023. But the “12 Years a Slave” star would confirm their breakup exactly one year later in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK.
Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa

While Lisa Bonet and “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa shocked everyone when they announced their divorce after in January 2023, their separation was finalized one year to the date. The two now share joint physical custody of their two children and split living expenses. Neither side received any form of spousal or child support.
Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum

Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum announced their engagement back in 2023, but just months after the release of their new film “Blink Twice” earlier this summer, the two called things off and decided to part ways back in late October 2024 after being together for three years.
Saweetie and YG

Rappers Saweetie and YG first sparked dating rumors back in April 2023, but it appears they weren’t meant to last as they confirmed that they split up back in January 2024.
Victoria Monét and John Gaines

While singer Victoria Monét and partner John Gaines technically called it quits in late 2023, they didn’t announce the news of their breakup until September 2024 when they posted a joint statement to social media. Together they share their 3-year-old daughter, Hazel.
Anderson .Paak and Jae Lin Chang

After over 10 years of marriage, Anderson .Paak filed for divorce from his wife Jae Lin Chang back in January. He asked the court for joint physical and legal custody of their sons Soul Rasheed (13) and Shine Tariq (6). .Paak also asked the court to terminate its ability to award spousal support to Chang. The two got married back in 2010.
Tory Lanez and Raina Chassange

After less than a year of marriage, Raina Chassange filed for divorce from rapper Tory Lanez in June 2024, which was news that shocked many as most didn’t know he was wed. The news also came while Lanez was serving out his prison sentence for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Chassagne cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind her filing and is reportedly seeking legal and physical custody of their 7-year-old son Kai’lon.
Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley

After five years of marriage, Chance the Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corley revealed they’d be calling it quits in a joint statement to social media back in April 2024.
“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways,” the pair announced. “We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the same time we spent together.”
They will continue to raise their two daughters, Kensli (7) and Marli (4).
Taylor Russell and Harry Styles

After making fans fall in love with their newfound romance back in June 2023, actress Taylor Russell and pop singer Harry Styles decided to go their separate ways back in May 2024. Neither person has commented on their breakup.
Chelsea and Jeff Lazkani

“Selling Sunset” star and realtor Chelsea Lazkani’s uncoupling from husband Jeff Lazkani was played out for the world to see in the latest season of the popular Netflix show. Chelsea officially filed for divorce in March 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” after seven years of marriage.
Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo

The news of the divorce of “The Bachelorette” star Rachel Lindsay and hubby Bryan Abasolo hit the internet back in January when he filed, and it’s been messy ever since. Abasolo was reportedly rewarded with $13,257 a month in temporary spousal support, along with an additional $15,000 in attorney’s fees, and $5,000 for forensic expert expenses.
Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams announced her split from hubby Simon Guobadia back in Feb. 2024. It has yet to be finalized.
