Here Are All the Beautiful Black Women We’d Love To See As Black Draculas ASAP

Ahhh, spooky season. A time where cosplaying as creepy characters becomes to norm and mischief abounds. Speaking of, we thought it’d be a little fun to engage in a little mischief of our own and fantasize about a handful of fine women (and we mean that both in the talent and in literal physique) who we want—no, NEED—to play Black Women Dracula. Why Dracula? Well, because, why not? Blade was just the tip of the iceberg, there’s so much more to explore—especially when there’s never been a Black woman vampire story to begin with.

Let’s kick things off real good with Lisa Bonet. How she’s managed to look more and more seductive year after year, the world may never know. But what we might be able to handle is seeing play Dracula in a film or series soon. It’s time we see her back on our screens.

Angela Bassett

Absolutely yes on Angela Bassett. She’s already the Queen Mother, so why not kick things off with her as Black Woman Dracula. She rules/ruled Wakanda beautifully, she could rule Dracula’s world, too.

Nicole Beharie

Nicole Beharie may be shining brightly on The Morning Show on right now, but she could definitely be a ruler of the Dark World as a Black Dracula. I dare you to convince.

Dominique Fishback

Dominique Fishback already proved she could play a villain with depth and nuance in Swarm, so there’s no doubt in my mind that she could be Dracula.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o is drop-dead gorgeous. That should be all the convincing you need.

Keke Palmer

Picture it: Keke Palmer as a dramatic yet seducing and hilarious Dracula. She’s a jack of all trades and master of many so it’s abundantly clear she’d bring her signature flair to this.

Tati Gabrielle

All Hail Tati Gabrielle as Prudence! If her role on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina wasn’t enough to make you run to the nearest production studio to make them put her in a Black Dracula film, then I don’t know what to tell you.

Regina King

Regina King may be known as Treacherous Trudy in The Harder They Fall, but if given the chance to be a Delightful Dracula, she’s gonna murk that too.

Gina Torres

Now I know what you’re thinking: Gina Torres is supposed to play Morticia Adams in the Black Adams Family remake. And she can still do that. However! Allow me to submit her for Dracula. I know you can see it! Let’s not go back and forth here.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington excelled as a “fixer” on Scandal which means we’re more than overdue to see her as some sort of Dracula destroyer.

Angelica Ross

We already know what Angelica Ross brings to the horror game, as seen during her time on American Horror Story. So it’s beyond time for her to take centerstage as Dracula.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Given Sheryl Lee Ralph’s filmography and TV stints, she’ll bring a certain sense of dramatic-esque, je ne sais quoi to the role that very few women can bring. And that’s something I need to see not now, but RIGHT NOW.

Zoe Saldana

Now that Zoe Saldana’s taking a break from playing Gamora in the MCU, maybe she can trade her green skin for a pair of fangs and get her Dracula on.

Lashana Lynch

Even though I’m still mourning the loss of Lashana Lynch’s character Izogie from The Woman King so I feel like the only way to give me some form of justice by making her Dracula. I mean just look at her face, that’s top-tier Dracula material!

Danai Gurira

We all know Danai Gurira was hella convincing as Okoye but I already know seeing her as Dracula would just do my heart good.

Viola Davis

It’s Viola Davis. ‘Nuff said.

Gabrielle Union

Gabrielle Union may have found The Perfect Find recently, but she excels as a badass. And as a beautiful, badass Dracula? She’ll effortlessly slay at it.

Alfre Woodard

Alfre Woodard is a legend and one that has never met a role she didn’t body. And I know Black Dracula would be yet another notch on her already decorated belt.

Zoe Kravitz

Picture this: Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz as her Dracula-esque parents who have to rein in her blood-thirsty daughter a.k.a. Zoe Kravitz as she starts school. It’s genius and it keeps this storyline all in the family.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw

Gugu Mbatha-Raw may be currently tracking variant across multiple timelines, in Loki, but when she’s done, she ought to think about taking on Black Dracula. She has an intensity that will bring some much needed spice to that role.

Zazie Beetz

Zazie Beetz already showed us her dangerous killer side in Bullet Train, its time to up the ante with her and give her fangs and a fierce cape!

Indya Moore

I have no doubt in my mind the beautiful threat Indya Moore would pose as Black Dracula. I’ve been missing them on my screens, it’s time to put the spotlight back on them right where it belongs!

Sanaa Lathan

Much all the beauties mentioned before her, Sanaa Lathan’s easy-on-the-eyes looks is sure to ensnare anyone who dares try to stop her Black Dracula rule. And that’s something we all need to see!
