Are things between tennis superstar Naomi Osaka and her boyfriend and rapper Cordae over?

That’s what some fans and followers are suspecting after a couple of cryptic posts from the sports star spawned speculation about her relationship status within the last few weeks.
In a tweet (if we can even still call it that) to X/Twitter a day after her birthday, Osaka wrote: “I just want someone that will watch the sunset with me.” Prior to that, in a tweet in late September, she also tweeted out: “The art of loving yourself.”
What’s more, is that there no longer appears to be any sign of Cordae on Osaka’s Instagram page either and vice versa. However, Cordae does still follow her on Instagram even though she doesn’t.
If the two have uncoupled, this news will definitely come as an unfortunate update—especially when you consider the fact that the two have been together since 2019 and recently welcomed their first child together, daughter Shai, back in July. As previously reported by The Root, the decorated athlete had been open about the struggles motherhood presented, specifically as it relates to how she trains for the tennis and travels.
Despite that though, she assured fans that she’s experiencing joy from her daughter and also teased her return back to the sport in due time. After confirming that she’ll be competing in the Australian Open in Jan. 2024, she told ESPN:
“I realized that I don’t know how the beginning of the year is going to go for me. I don’t know the level of play, and I think I have to ease into it. At the very least, I’m going to set myself up for a very good end of the year.
She added, “I’m like, ‘I kind of wish I was playing too,’ but I’m in this position now and I’m very grateful. I really love my daughter a lot, but I think it really fueled a fire in me.”
