Halle Berry Fiercely Responds to Reporter’s Comment About Her Age — and Phew!

Halle Berry may be a veteran in Hollywood and used to dealing with the media. But there’s one thing she’s absolutely done with and now, she sounding the alarm on it!

Halle Berry have never been one to not speak up and speak out about certain things and that sentiment was put on full display in an all-new interview. And trust us when we say, what she expressed is a message that should’ve been told a lot louder a long time ago!

For context, Berry is currently on a press tour, gearing up for the release of her new heist film, “Crime 101.” In it, she stars as a disillusioned insurance broker who’s facing her own crossroads and eventually crosses paths with an elusive jewel thief who’s eyeing the biggest score of his notorious career. The film is stacked with an all-star cast—including Marvel stars Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan and Corey Hawkins—with Berry being the effortlessly beautiful icing on the cake to round things out.

However, in a recent sit down with “Heart Evening Show,” she got candid about a not-so-sweet question she’s tired of answering or addressing when it comes to doing interviews with the media.

“Stop asking me about my f*cking age man,” she answered immediately. “It comes up every time somebody talks about me. And I just hate that it’s like, ‘oh my God you’re—how are you 59?’ Cause I’ve been here 59 years that’s how. You know, just as a woman that precedes us more than it does men. Like that’s always a thing with everybody I meet. Whatever age I am at the time that seems to come up.”

She went on to double down on the double standard and explained how the men aren’t subjected to the same types of conversations and that she’s over having to address nearly every time she speaks with media.

“It’s like man, ‘can we ever outrun our age?’ Can we ever, like, get outside of that? Does that always have to define us as women?” she concluded.

And she’s right. You don’t see Will Smith or Idris Elba or Morris Chestnut being constantly asked these types of questions. So why does Berry need to be routinely subjected to it? It is definitely a double standard and a tired one at that. So of course, by the time the “Catwoman” star’s words began to circulate on social media, many were quick to side with her.

“They always bring up her age and how attractive she is, it’s so boring. she is a grown woman with experience, thoughts, depth, intellect, stop with the “you’re so pretty!” wrote one user on TikTok.

“People often believe that youth equates with beauty so they confuse age with beauty, It’s not about age it’s that you’re beautiful,” said another.

“We’re tired. I wonder if we will stop obsessing over looking younger after this movement,” one other user wrote.

However, there were some who wanted her to reframe the question and look at what its implying in a different light.

“Stop making it as a negative “happening” and reframe it as positive. 59 years old is a blessing, Halle. You’ve proven that you can exist,” one other user suggested.

“Halle u have a girlish’ figure & all they say is that,” noted one other user.
