Speaking out in a new post to his official Instagram on Tuesday, the “Lemonade” rapper hopped online to tell his followers all about his upcoming new memoir, titled “Episode.” If you’ll remember, in 2016, he released his debut memoir, “The Autobiography of Gucci Mane,” which took a long look at his life, professional and personal successes. But now, in this forthcoming project, it’s set to take an even deeper dive into the popular Atlanta rapper’s mental state and pull back the veil on his inner struggles and the why behind some of his headline-making decisions.
In an attempt to give fans a taste of what all “Episodes” will cover, Gucci revealed that during a rough period of time after he was found guilty of violating his probation, he was admitted into a mental health facility in 2011. However, in Gucci’s post on Tuesday, he shockingly shared that his then-girlfriend (now wife) Keyshia Ka’oir had to “kidnap” him in order to get him to go there.
“Anybody who got family members, or they [are] dealing with mental health issues, you need to get this book. This talks about my struggles through my adult life with mental health,” the “Woptober” rapper said.
He continued: “It’s talking about a whole bunch of different episodes in my life. It talks about the time I was high as hell and got the ice cream cone tattoo. It talks about the time when I was going through an episode and my wife kidnapped me with my six bodyguards from the porch and had to take me to a mental hospital.”
Gucci went on to say that he’s also going to be breaking down his strained relationship with his mother, his early “trapping” days, fallouts with friends and more. But we’ve got to circle back to his wife going completely gangster in the best way and making sure he got the help he needed during that dark time.
Ka’oir making that move is just another notch in the belt of her longstanding support for her boo. Over the years, she’s proven just how far she’ll go to make sure their familial unit is intact–whether it’s flipping money into making more while the rapper was locked up or starting even more business ventures to help keep things afloat. One thing about it, two things for sure: Keyshia Ka’oir is Gucci’s ride or die and in it for the long run.
The “I’m A Dog” rapper has previously spoken on his wife’s devotion and how she “stayed down” for him amidst his time behind bars, doing drugs and other not-so-pleasant happenings. In a post of appreciation in 2019, Gucci penned on Instagram: “Everyone want this, but what y’all forget was she was with wild Gucci, cheating Gucci, in jail Gucci, publicity with other women Gucci. This is Gucci after therapy/rehabilitation.”
He added, “This is a street man groomed in his 30s after he’s been at his lowest point. Point is, this is a rider who knew what she signed up for! You b*tches is with the next n*gga after couples fight …”
