Ben Powers, the actor who played Thelma’s husband on Good Times, has died at the age of 64. According to Powers’ family, the former actor died April 6 in Bedford, Mass. During his stint on Good Times, Powers’ character, Keith Anderson, was a professional football player who had to leave the sport early in his career because of an injury he suffered on his wedding day. 

Beyond his role on Good Times, Powers was also featured in the crime drama Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer, as well as Gimme a Break, Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie and Laverne & Shirley. 

Powers is survived by his mother and two sisters.
