The internet is losing it after Atlanta rapper Future revealed his latest hair color. If you’re a fan of the “Mask Off” star, then you know Future likes to switch up his hairstyles, most famously with his blonde dreadlocks. Now, the 41-year-old is trying something new, but the jury is clearly still out on whether this is a hit or a miss.

The rapper debuted his grayish, purple new style on social media, and you better believe Black Twitter had tons to say about it. “This n***a future cut his hair and dyed his hair a pastel purple now he look like Morgan Freeman,” @TwistdBallerina said on X. “I am devastated!”
The comparisons to actor Morgan Freeman just kept coming as another user, @zmrdaaaa, tweeted, “This ain’t future this Morgan Freebands.” Someone else, @upblissed, tweeted in confusion. “Im confused why did this nigga wake up and decide to start looking like morgan freeman,” they said.
Future first ushered in a new era of him without locs at this year’s Met Gala. Folks had mixed reviews on the matter then… but this time is much different.
“Is he going crazy?” @SHAWTYNOKlA asked. Whether they were joking or not, it seems like many of Future’s supporters have concerns regarding the rapper’s state of mind. Another user, @waymoflydenu, said, “Album finna be fie cause clearly this n***a lost his mind.”
But wait… there’s more! It wasn’t just Freeman that folks started comparing the “Like That” artist to. “Looking like Cornel West. Please,” @yoyotrav tweeted referring to the 72-year-old philosopher and former presidential candidate.
“N***a look like Wanda Sykes,” @RealFamilyCrete said.
@Scott_Smilez tweeted, “Nigga really went in there and said ‘gimme dat Lori Lightfoot’” referring to the former mayor of Chicago. Another user had the same thought. “Scrolled too fast and thought Lori Lightfoot was stunting on us,” @Chrissssssw said.
“Future looking rough ever since he switch sides on Drake,” @elbirdleaf tweeted.
At 41 years old, many have called Future out for being “too old” for the music he makes. Now that he’s gone gray, the critiques could only get worse. “This n***a is clearly going thru a midlife crisis and no one is doing anything,” @3rdIPunk responded.
“I won’t address the hairstyle, but this a 41-year-old man,” @SybilleColombe said.
“This make him look his age,” @iH8Meccavellii declared. Another user, @lilrocketnasa, said he’s “too old to be gettin grey hair dye he still think he look 25 brother you look like a granny.”
@TundeSilk joked, “Future is starting to look like the Past.”
But while the internet was cracking jokes, @Only1Shana_MUA shared some advice for Future. “Hair color specialist here! The grey/silver would’ve hit so much harder if his hair had been lifted to the proper level and toned to get the golden undertones completely out of there,” she said.
