As if New Edition’s show-stealing tribute to The Spinners during the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony wasn’t enough to get fans talking, the group just dropped a major announcement. They’re finally hitting Sin City with the Vegas residency fans have been clamoring for. The R&B legends are set to take over the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas for six shows Feb. 28-March 9. This will offer longtime NE fans a much more intimate experience, as the theater only seats 1,480. To prepare for the monumental event and celebrate all this fantastic NE news, we’ve got you covered with the ultimate New Edition playlist.

You Won’t Believe the Reason Why This ‘High School Musical’ Movie is Monique Coleman’s All Time Favorite

“Candy Girl”

If you were a little girl in the ‘80s, how could you not immediately fall in love in with New Edition?

“Is This the End”

No broken heart hurts as bad as the first one. The innocence of their early songs is adorable.

“Cool It Now”

You know you’re a true New Edition fan when you stop what you’re doing at random moments to bust out the “Cool It Now” rap. Bonus points if you get other people to join in.

“Mr. Telephone Man”

After hearing his smooth leading man vocals on “Mr. Telephone Man,” we all knew Bobby was going solo one day.

“Lost in Love”

If you need a nostalgic moment to reflect on your first love, nothing will take you back like this sweet ballad.

“Count Me Out”

“Count Me Out” is a quintessential ‘80s pop song. It feels a little like “Cool It Now” Part 2. However, it was clear the group was missing something and needed to make a change.

“Don’t Be Cruel”

Bobby and his all-star producing team really changed the R&B world with Don’t Be Cruel. That album gave New Jack Swing crossover success and established Brown as an influential R&B artist.

“My Prerogative”

Bobby heard all the rumors about him being the bad boy of New Edition, and he turned them into a hit single that still goes hard.

“Roni”

If you went to a school dance or roller rink in 1989, this was the song you awkwardly slow danced to.

“Every Little Step”

Only Bobby could make the Gumby haircut a thing. Seriously though, this is one ‘80s fad that does not need to make a comeback.

“If It Isn’t Love”

If you’re not doing the “If It Isn’t Love” choreography in the middle of the supermarket, you’re not a real New Edition fan.

“Can You Stand the Rain”

The way Johnny bodied this classic let the whole world know there was a new NE in town. It also signaled that this wasn’t the “Candy Girl,” “Cool It Now” group you grew up with.

“Poison”

“Never trust a big butt and a smile.” Wise words for anyone. From sporting events, to wedding receptions, to drunk bachelorettes, nothing gets a party more hype than the first few beats of “Poison.”

“When Will I See You Smile Again?”

For anyone who thinks Bell Biv DeVoe are just “Poison” and “Do Me!,” I give you this smooth heartbreak ballad with Ricky desperately begging for forgiveness.

“Sensitivity”

Ralph’s solo hit screams ‘90s. I wish he’d gotten a better launch for his breakout moment, but we can’t have a New Edition playlist without shouting out “Sensitivity.”

“My, My, My”

Johnny Gill was waiting years to let everyone know he could blow the doors off the show whenever he wanted, and he did not disappoint with “My, My, My.”

“Rub You the Right Way”

Johnny’s side trip into the dance world is always a fun throwback. But if you’ve seen the video, you know he should definitely leave the dancing to the other guys.

“Hit Me Off”

Just when the music world thought NE was washed, they hooked up with Diddy, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for a big comeback that kicked off with “Hit Me Off.” The single perfectly blends all six members’ styles into a mature new version of the group.

“I’m Still in Love with You”

With its beautiful harmonies and romantic lyrics, this love song from Home Again really feels like a full circle moment.
