Last year, after the massacre at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla., Frank Ocean wrote a tribute post to the victims, and in it he recalled an incident when his father, Calvin Cooksey, used a homophobic slur toward a transgender teen. It’s that simple recollection that has prompted Cooksey to file a $14 million defamation lawsuit against his son.

Cooksey claims that since that Tumblr post, he’s lost financial opportunities in the film industry because of what he says is his son’s lie.
Last year, Cooksey infamously attempted to sue Russell Simmons as well when Simmons claimed that he was a deadbeat dad. That was $142 million Cooksey never saw.
