Fox News political commentator Brian Kilmeade is defending himself against criticism for remarks he made about Vice President and presumptive Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris claiming folks didnβt hear him right.
Kilmeade came for Harris on the July 24 episode of Fox & Friends for among other things skipping Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuβs speech to Congress that day to speak to members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. β a historically Black Greek organization and one of the members of the Divine Nine.

In a statement, Fox News Media said Politico reporter Eugene Daniels, who initially flagged Kilmeadeβs comments on X, βcompletely misquoted and unnecessarily maligned Brian Kilmeade who clearly said βcollegeβ sorority.β

Kilmeade defended himself and denied saying anything offensive on his radio show after the Fox & Friends episode, saying:
βIβve never used that word in my life, if youβre listening to what Iβm saying, if you know where sheβs speaking, why would I even say that? This is an example of how everybody is looking to jump on other people for no reason. People, use your heads. Donβt look for something trending on Twitter and just assume itβs true. I hope weβre smarter than that by now.β
After speaking with Fox News, Eugene Daniels has since posted that heβs going to βtake Brian and his team at their word.β
But the social media backlash has already been fast and furious as Divine Nine members and other Black leaders take Kilmeade to task.
βFox News is ignorant. Donβt ever call my Sorority or any other #D9 organization βcolored.β Keep it out of your mouth,β California congresswoman Sydney Kamlager posted on X.
βAll yβall out here now telling us to unhear βcoloredβ and hear βcollegeβ instead are full of s#it. The man said βcolored.β Just own it if youβre going to defend it,β Former RNC Chairman and Lt. Governor of Maryland Michael Steele posted on X.
