In an attempt to justify her behavior, Singer used a heinous slur again while texting a Page Six reporter. โThe word I used was โNWordโ Not n-gโฆ,โ a screenshot from the publication revealed Tuesday.
Singer was scheduled to promote the new season of Real Housewives of New York at BravoCon, but now her name has disappeared from the agenda.
In 2021, Singer was investigated by Bravo after RHONYโs first Black cast member Eboni K. Williams filed a complaint accusing her of racism. Bravo stated that the โinvestigation was closed after nothing substantial was found.โ
In the Vanity Fair article, Singer reportedly the N-word while talking with a Black crew member during production in 2020 and 2021. Former RHONY producer Darian Edmondsonโwho is Blackโsaid Singer used the slur after filming a segment with Williams.
Singer allegedly said she didnโt want to discuss race before asking Williams the ethnicity of her new love interest. Edmondson said that when the cameras stopped rolling, Singer told her the conversation with Williams was like when Jewish people called Singer a โshiksa,โ which is Yiddish for non-Jewish woman.
Edmondson allegedly responded โRamona, I have no idea what youโre talking about.โ Singer allegedly then stated, โOh, itโs literally like somebody calling you a n****r.โ
In addition, the story also included Singer allegedly telling a Black woman employee at Bravo: โThereโs so many of you guys here now, please donโt change your hair as Iโm not gonna be able to remember anybodyโs names.โ Singer tried to justify it by saying it was โstrictly a commentary on my inability to remember names.โ
Even though the Housewives were told specifically not to perpetuate racist stereotypes on the showโlike Black fathers not being present in their childrenโs livesโSinger allegedly asked during the conversation: โWhat if they donโt have a father? Why canโt I say that? Most of them donโt.โ
Singer was also accused of saying Black people were โgonna ruin our show.โ In a written statement, she denied any wrongdoing. โI stopped filming RHONY in February 2021. These accusations were all aired publicly in September 2021.
โThese claims were investigated by the network back then and they found no basis for the claims. I stand by all my comments in the article. I am extraordinarily disappointed that Vanity Fair and Page Six felt the need to re-amplify this non-story.โ
Sadly, it seems like Singer hasnโt learned a damn thing.
