Florida strikes again. This time a middle school teacher apparently thought it was cool to use a racial slur in conversation with students.

According to ActionNewsJax, the principal of Kernan Middle School contacted the Office of Equity and Inclusion/Professional Standards after getting a complaint from the parent of a student.

The teacher in question, identified as David Swinyar, is accused of using the n-word in conversation with students and/or when he referred to a student. He also reportedly commented that “you all should not be dating all these different African-American boys because they are not worth it.”

Charming fellow.

Swinyar was also accused of making other inappropriate comments like calling students “dumb” and adding, “You are only in my class because you failed the [Florida Standards Assessments].”

Swinyar’s punishment includes a whopping 10-day suspension without pay.
