Being married to one person is hard enough, but one Florida man thought he could juggle three marriages at once – and now, he’s paying the price.

According to ABC Action News, Henry Betsey Jr. received a sentence of two years of probation after pleading no contest to a charge of felony bigamy in May. The 50-year-old’s cover was blown when one of his wives discovered the other two during an online search.
“I just started county by county, putting in his name. And that’s when I came up with the marriage to Michele and the marriage to Brandy,” Tonya Betsey told the outlet.
Henry Betsey Jr.’s actions are illegal and downright awful, but he kept his game consistent until he got busted. All three of his wives, who were from different Florida counties, say they met him on dating apps and married him at one of the state’s county courthouses.
Michelle Betsey said the state of Florida should have been able to flag his marriages in other counties and is currently working with the state’s government to introduce a statewide marriage license database.
“There are no safeguards, and I feel like that’s part of where the system failed,” she told ABC Action News.
During his sentencing hearing, Henry Betsey Jr. took time to apologize to the women he deceived.
“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the ladies and I want to apologize to the court administration and to my family and friends that had to be involved in this. Because ultimately this is something that I didn’t wish to be part of,” he said.
But bigamy isn’t the only case Henry is facing. He was arrested in June in Virginia for assault and battery of a family member while attending a wedding with a whole new girlfriend. The judge said the fact that Henry had no prior criminal record and that his Virginia case is still outstanding led to his inability to sentence him to jail.
The online reactions to Henry’s cheating ways have been priceless.
“Finding a new girlfriend after being caught married to three is quite something, but bringing her to court when you’re judged for bigamy is another level,” wrote someone on YouTube.
