Flex Alexander, the actor most notable for the popular 2000s sitcom “One on One,” is back in the news. But it’s not for any new projects or gigs, it’s for a past role that has everyone on the internet unfortunately trolling him once again. Let’s get into it!

Though this movie is seared in this author’s memory for forever, some may not remember the 2004 made-for-TV movie “Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story.” Alexander starred in the titular role as Jackson and before you start scratching your head–just wait. It sadly gets worse from here.
Not only was Alexander a puzzling pick to portray the King of Pop, he was subjected to painting his face damn-near white in order to signify Jackson’s later years. This move coupled with a horrible wig and an unbelievable high-pitched voice all contributed to Alexander’s iteration of Jackson being one of the worst ones we’ve ever seen onscreen. To add insult to injury, none of the “Beat It” singer’s songs were allowed to be played in the film due to the fact that it was being made without the authorization of Jackson’s estate. This meant that fan favorite songs could only referenced to with basic music filling in the gaps in between.
To be very clear, it’s an all-around miss of a movie. And given all the recent chatter about Jackson and his upcoming biopic, it’s no wonder why Alexander was recently trolled online for his role, as evidenced by a viral video. In it, the actor can be seen sitting in a car waiting on a friend to join him as he compliments the beauty of the day. All of a sudden, a man dressed up as Alexander from the film gets in the passenger seat and he stares at the actor.
What happens next is nothing short of hilarious as Alexander passionately (yet jokingly) defends his decision to take on the gig all those years ago and talks about the effects its had on him.
“Do you understand that every year it’s his birthday, they send me memes. On the day he died, they sent me memes. I had no idea, I did this before the internet was even around man,”Alexander said. “Listen, I had to take care of my family. I’m sure there’s plenty of people out there who would do it, who would do whatever they had to do to take care of their family man. That’s all I wanted to do.”
As it began to circulate, many people took to the comments to express their thoughts and feelings.
“I love how we all saw this shit and can finally speak freely about it,” said one user on X/Twitter.
“Lol I’m glad he being a good sport about it cause we never gon let him live that one down,” said another.
Added one other user: “I want to know who was in the running for playing Michael Jackson along with Flex…because I just don’t see how they picked him lol.”
Said another user, “This is pretty funny and way to be a good sport. They should let Flex get a cameo in the new movie coming out next spring but not as Michael.”
