Ex-model Carla Franklin is suing Google to expose a cyberbully who made derogatory comments about her on YouTube (YouTube is owned by Google). The cyberbully/trash talker dug into Franklin under three different aliases, calling her a whore. Franklin, who holds an undergraduate degree from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University, found out about the videos after friends alerted her to the series of videos on YouTube. The lawsuit alleges that the cyberbully posted malicious comments about Franklin along with unauthorized clips from a movie in which she appeared. Franklin is using the same legal strategy that model Liskula Cohen used when successfully suing Google to learn the identity of her cyberbully. The cyberbully claimed that her privacy had been invaded. In our best Wilona Woods voice from Good Times: “Well, ain’t that a blip.”
