Every Time Charlamagne Tha God Was Checked, Dragged or Cussed Out on ‘The Breakfast Club’

On Tuesday (Sept. 16), we reported on the explosive interview between radio host Charlamagne Tha God and former Roc-A-Fella CEO Dame Dash. The two clashed when Dash challenged the radio host’s masculinity and told him that he got his start in “gossip” because of Wendy Williams.

The interview caused viewers to erupt in laughter in the comments, but this isn’t the first time that Charlamagne has clashed with guests on “The Breakfast Club.” In fact, we’ve compiled a list of the many times celebrity guests have tangled with him.

    Mo’Nique:

Actress and comedian Mo’Nique had to call out Charlamagne for not doing his proper homework before having her on the show, schooling the host on the difficulties Black women face in the entertainment industry.

    Birdman:

In 2016, before his interview started, rapper Birdman told the hosts of “The Breakfast Club” to stop playin’ on his name, but after a heated exchange with Charlamagne, Birdman left the interview just moments after DJ Envy introduced him as their guest.

    Nelly Pt. 1:

After Charlamagne made a sneaky comment that Nelly isn’t “cold” in music, the rapper was quick to respond in a cool, calm, collected but intimidating way, telling the host that he had his lawyers on retainer, so “Just say what you mean.”

    Nelly Pt. 2:

Though Charlamagne kept it relatively cool on “The Breakfast Club,” on the podcast “Million Dollaz Worth Of Game,” Charlamagne admitted that he was scared Nelly might “f*** him up.”

    SiR:

R&B artist SiR had to check Charlamagne after the host made a joke that his birth name Darryl Farr sounded like a “N*gga from the hood trying to sound fancy.” SiR was firm as he told Charlamagne to respect the name that his grandmother had given him.

    Master P:

When rapper Master P was on the show, Charlamagne made a crude comment about Mercedes, a singer signed to Master P’s label, and the rapper had to remind him not to cross the line.

    Charlie Murphy:

Early days of Charlamagne was tough to watch. He’s definitely evolved with therapy because this question was out if pocket. Like Charlie said, if he was it wouldn’t matter. #charlamagnethagod #charliemurphy #eddiemurphy #thebreakfastclub #interview #djenvy #angelayee #lgbtqia #fyp #foryoupage #foryou

After Charlamagne tried to provoke Charlie Murphy by bringing up gay rumors about his brother, Eddie Murphy, the late comedian responded by telling Charlamagne that the rumors were absurd, and even if they were true, he would still love and defend his brother.

    Dame Dash:

#damedash calls out #charlamagnethagod for speaking down on others but never on jayz: “so i’m thinking to myself Either you got a crush on this man or he’s paying you, one or the other”

In another clip from the explosive Dame Dash interview, Dash doubled down on his thoughts that Charlamagne might be gay by theorizing that the host might have a “crush” on Jay-Z since he never talks badly about him.

    L.L. Cool J:

L.L. Cool J had to remind Charlamagne that success isn’t just about money after the host called him a “Rich Unc.” In response, the rapper stated, “It ain’t even about money, it’s about character, right? Because a lot of dudes lead with their money, but there’s nothing else there.”

    Larry Elder:

Larry Elder brutally humiliated Charlamagne when he told the radio host that he should’ve been embarrassed when former president Joe Biden told Charlamagne that he “ain’t black” in a 2020 interview.

    Coi Leray:

Coi Leray had a lot to hold back her thoughts on the host’s music taste after Charlamagne said her music just wasn’t for him.

Charlamagne once made a horrible comment towards Lil Mama when he said his nickname for her is “Young Struggle Face.” The host got a lot of backlash for this comment, even from guests on the show, such as rapper Beanie Sigel. He was also jumped by a group of unidentified men while on his way to work. Yikes.

    Beanie Sigel:

Beanie Sigel called Charlamagne out for being a “character” and didn’t hold back from telling the host that he thinks he is a coward for making rapper Lil Mama cry during her 2011 interview on “The Breakfast Club.”
