Aa we previously told you, not too long after the news initially broke a week ago, it was announced that Astronomer would be launching a full investigation into the ordeal. It’s CEO Andy Byron resigned and now, in a twist we all should’ve seen coming, the woman in the video–Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot–has also resigned on Friday, per NBC News. While they’re out, its Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy has stepped in as the interim CEO.
In a statement announcing his new role, DeJoy noted of the “promotion”: “The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.”

As bad and crazy as this might all sound, the jokes about the alleged cheating Astronomer CEO and his HR lady just keep getting funnier and funnier the longer you scroll on social media. If you missed the hubub happening in real time on on July 17, then allow us to give you a bit of background. Video footage of the two began gaining traction on social media when the duo appeared on the Jumbotron at the aforementioned concert. Their clearly romantic embrace was cut short once they saw themselves plastered for the rest of the concertgoers to see. The two immediately let go of one another and the man disappeared from the camera’s view entirely, while the woman turned her back and tried to hide their face.
Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin then decided to poke fun at their reaction, saying: “Oh look at these two. Alright, come on. You’re OK. Wait, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
After internet detectives went to work, they identified the couple as Astronomer execs Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot. The gag? They’re both married to other people.
