Police said Mangum (who was first in the headlines for her 2006 claim that three players on the Duke lacrosse team had trapped her inside a bathroom at a home where she was performing as a stripper and raped and sexually assaulted her) stabbed Daye in the torso with a kitchen knife during a dispute on April 3.

She was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury, and was being held in the Durham County jail on a $300,000 bond.

The case remains under investigation, but it’s now anticipated that the charges will be upgraded in light of Daye’s death.
