DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ legend no stranger to being tossed out of places, was asked to leave a Kansas City venue on Saturday evening while doing a set in Kansas City.
Performing in the downtown Power & Light Districtβwhich some call the Power & White district stemming from dress-code restrictions which seem targeted at keeping the hip-hop audience away from the areaβconcert promoters allege that Jazzy Jeff's sound technicians were asked to turn down the decibels to an appropriate level, a request the techs refused to comply with. The show was halted, the sound levels were adjusted and, according to one source, the DJ refused to continue to his set thereafter.
